Why Use Flax Seed Oil When You Get Many More Health Benefits From Fish Oil?

Although flax seed oil is a good source of omega 3′s, it does not provide the range and quality of benefits you get from the best fish oils. This is down to the type of fatty acid it contains. So unless you’re vegetarian, here are the reasons why you should avoid it in favour of fish oils.

Flax seed oil contains ALA fatty acids and while fairly effective they are no match for the power of the two mains ones, DHA and EPA.

ALA is very rarely, if ever converted into the two main ones making it much less useful. Many manufacturers argue that it is often converted but recent studies show how that is not the case.

DHA on the other hand can easily be converted into EPA, but this does not happen the other way round, making DHA the king of fatty acids, already being responsible for most of the health benefits, especially where the heart and brain are concerned.

Some of the fish oil benefits include improved heart and brain health, an improved immune system, effective treatment of arthritis and skin ailments like psoriasis and acne as well as lowering the deadly LDL or bad cholesterol levels.

The US National Eye Institute says that omega 3 can reduce the risk of age related blindness by over 30% in a recent study and found that that it helps the eyes by acting as an anti-inflammatory, one of the key features of any good fish oil.

More is being discovered all the time and to get these amazing and proven benefits look for an oil high in DHA as most have higher EPA levels because it’s much cheaper to make.

A distilled oil will have had all the dangerous toxins taken out so it’s completely safe, and this is especially vital for pregnant mother and kids.

In conclusion, despite the many good benefits of flax seed oil, it is completely blown away by the far superior health benefits that a good fish oil can provide to help you maintain optimal health now while avoiding many degenerative diseases in the future.

A natural spa for the treatment of psoriasis

If you, like me, have been suffering from psoriasis for years, then you know that there is no real cure. Also, like me, I imagine you’ve tried all kinds of psoriasis treatments, some work, some don’t but whatever the outcome, the results, if any, are short lived.

Now I also have a personal quirk – I don’t like using steroids or hormones and I definitely don’t want to try out any artificial substances that claim to provide relief from psoriasis, eczema or rheumatism.

That’s why, when I read a series of articles about the excellent affect a series of treatments at the Dead Sea has on the symptoms of psoriasis, I was very interested in finding out more. I consulted my dermatologist who has been treating my psoriasis for years and he confirmed that the healing affects of the Dead Sea water, mud packs and low UV sunlight have shown remarkable results. He stressed that it wasn’t a cure but that he had seen research that pointed to a remission period of up to nine months before the signs of psoriasis began to return.

Encouraged that maybe, at last, I had found the treatment that I have been looking for, I “Googled” the subjects and came across a whole load of articles and research papers dealing with psoriasis and the Dead Sea. All, with no exception, confirmed what my dermatologist had told me, that the effects of a course of treatment at a Dead Sea spa on psoriasis, eczema and rheumatism where phenomenal and lasted for up to nine months!

That was all I needed to know. I went to a travel agent and booked a series of treatments at hotel spa on the Dead Sea and then found out that my insurance covered some of the costs! That was five months ago – my skin looks fresh and clean, there are no signs of the psoriasis and I am living life like I never have before.

One thing is for sure – this was my first visit for psoriasis treatments at the Dead Sea, it won’t be my last!

Psoriasis and the Dead Sea

The Dead Sea, set in the heart of the Judean Desert at the lowest spot on the face of the globe, 400 meters below sea level, is world renowned for its saline sea which lets you float unaided and read the paper and the amazing natural wonders that surround this magical area.

But if you are one of the many millions suffering from psoriasis, eczema or rheumatism, then the Dead Sea has an even greater appeal for you!

Because of the Dead Sea’s unique qualities, it has an amazing therapeutic effect on the ravages of psoriasis and eczema and can relieve the aches and pains caused by rheumatism.

Please don’t misunderstand me; I’m not saying that treatment at a Dead Sea spa will cure your psoriasis, eczema or rheumatism. Unfortunately, medical science is still striving to find the ultimate cure for these chronic diseases. What treatment at the Dead Sea can do for your psoriasis, eczema or rheumatism, is to cause the outward effects to disappear within days and bring almost instant relief from pain and ease up restricted joints. What is really special about psoriasis, eczema or rheumatism treatments at this unique spot is the long lasting effect a course of treatment can have. Over 90% of patients treated for psoriasis, eczema or rheumatism at one of the Dead Sea’s many first class spas, reports remission periods of up to nine months and the return of symptoms at a much slower and less pronounced rate.

Not for nothing did the ancient Romans and Greeks hold this amazing place in such awe and revere. In fact, even the ancient Egyptians and the legendary Queen of Sheba were regular visitors to this natural health spa. So, why don’t you find out more! It could be the most significant decision of your life!

Psoriasis and medical tourism

Medical tourism is a very popular way of combining medical treatments with a vacation. But let’s be honest, if you have plastic surgery or extensive dental work done – it’s not much of a vacation.

But if you suffer from psoriasis, eczema or rheumatism then medical tourism at the Dead Sea is just that: excellent treatment for your psoriasis, eczema or rheumatism combined with the vacation of a lifetime that can be as relaxing or as exciting as you wish.

Image a relaxing vacation in the warm, low UV sunlight of the deepest spot on earth. Bathing in mineral rich, 100% natural water and applying mud packs that act as a totally natural peeling process. Whilst reading a book or just talking to friends, you will literally see the ravages of psoriasis or eczema disappearing and feel your skin soaking up the nutrients and becoming clean, fresh and glowing. If you suffer from rheumatism, the aches and pains that plague you on a daily basis will disappear and you will feel like a new person.

No medicines, hormones or steroids – 100% natural treatments that take advantage of the unique qualities of the Dead Sea to bring you relief for up to nine months!

After your daily psoriasis, eczema or rheumatism treatment, you’ll have plenty of time (and the energy) to explore the canyons of the surrounding desert, visit historical sites dating back over 2000 years or take a trip to magical Jerusalem. If you prefer, you can just laze around at your 5 star hotel, building up strength for your return to the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

However you decide to spend your time, taking the decision to get psoriasis, eczema or rheumatism treatments at the Dead Sea could change your life when you return home a new person and secure in the knowledge that for many months you will be free from suffering and embarrassment.

What is Psoriasis?

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that primarily affects joints and skin.  Psoriasis is non-contagious and usually manifests itself in patients between the ages of 15 to 40. However, once psoriasis appears, it is a disease that will be with the patients for the rest of their lives. Psoriasis manifests itself in the form of dry, scaly skin, unsightly rashes and some discomfort – soreness and itching. In severe cases of psoriasis, the skin can crack and even bleed. The severity of the disease varies from patient to patient – it may occur in relatively small areas of the body but can also affect large areas of skin. The causes of psoriasis are not known but it is thought that genetics and stress may have some bearing on the outbreak of the disease While many treatments that ease or retard the disease’s progress do exist, there is no known permanent cure for psoriasis.

Psoriasis Variants

Plaque Psoriasis: Over 80% of patients have plaque psoriasis which evident itself by red or silvery build-ups of skin. Primarily occurs on the elbows and knees but can also affect the scalp or the genital area.

Inverse Psoriasis: tend to appear in the armpits, in areas with folds of skin and also the groin.

Guttate Psoriasis: manifests itself in the form of small red spots covering areas of skin.

Erythrodermic Psoriasis: Cause red patches on the skin. The infected areas can be painful and result in excessive itching.

Pustular Psoriasis: Causes white blisters, usually surrounded by areas of red skin.

Psoriasis Treatment

There is no known cure for psoriasis! Treatments that do exist, aim to control the spread of the disease and reduce its severity. Treatments should be undertaken at the advice of your physician as different treatment regimes are suitable for different patients and forms of psoriasis.

Treatment regimes include:

  • Topical treatment: creams and lotions are applied to affected areas. Some of this medicines are natural, some artificial and some a combination of the two. Always consult your physician or dermatologist before using unknown substances.
  • Phototherapy: or the exposure of the affected areas to UV rays, usually in a solarium or through the use of UV projectors. These treatments must be medically supervised and approved.
  • Systemic treatments: involves the use or oral or intravenous medication – always administered by a qualified medical practitioner!
  • Climatotherapy: refers to treatments for psoriasis in an area where climatic and other factors give a therapeutic and healing benefit – such as the Dead Sea. Climatotherapy is a process that can take anywhere from a week to a month. The results of climatotherapy, especially at the Dead Sea, have been shown to be extraordinarily effective in combating the ravages of psoriasis and in retarding its reappearance.

Psoriasis – there is hope!

Do you, like me, suffer from psoriasis? Have the all too obvious symptoms of psoriasis like areas of dry skin, been a cause for embarrassment? Has psoriasis affected your self confidence and your ability to lead a normal life?

These are questions that, for me, until a few years ago, the answer to all would have been a resounding YES! Because of recurring outbreaks of psoriasis, I hardly ever went to the beach, stayed at home when my friends went out clubbing and let the psoriasis control my life – negatively!

And then I was rescued! I’m not exaggerating, because something my dermatologist suggested turned my life around and all within the space of two months.

A wonder drug – no, a wondrous place!

After years of psoriasis treatments I was fed up! Fed up with creams and drugs, health farms and lotions, fed up with diets and all sorts of wonder treatments that promised “instant relief” from psoriasis.

Finally my dermatologist suggested the Dead Sea and the 100% natural psoriasis treatments. I know, the name is a bit off putting but it really should be called the Sea of Renewed Life because that what it did for me.

Rest, relaxation and relief!

The Dead Sea is unique in a number of ways. It’s famous for being the lowest spot on the face of the earth but also for having one of the saltiest bodies of water as well. The water and the mud are rich in minerals and salts, the atmosphere is dry and free from pollutants and allergens and the desert sun has most of the harmful UV rays filtered out by the atmosphere – perfect conditions for treating psoriasis!

I spent three weeks at a luxury hotel at the Dead Sea. On average, I spent three to four hours a day bathing in the water, having mud packs placed on the areas affected by the psoriasis as well as others and lounging in the sun. Within less than a week, my skin looked fresher and cleaner than it had for years. Within two weeks, all signs of the psoriasis had disappeared and by the end of my stay, I was permanently in my bikini for the first time in years.

Now I know this isn’t a permanent cure – there isn’t one! But, for almost nine month after I came home, there were no signs of the psoriasis. Then, when it did begin to reappear, it was less violent and developed much slower.

Because of the Dead Sea psoriasis treatments, my life has changed for the better! I go out; I’m self confident and not embarrassed by my body or the psoriasis.

Ask your doctor – he’ll give you all the information you need.

Learn about a Fish Oil Skin Care Dietary Supplement

Tell me does this describe you?  If you suffer from any sort of skin condition, you might be amazed to find out just how helpful a fish oil skin care dietary supplement can be.  Your skin is the largest organ of the body, and the cover it provides you protects you from infection, injury, heat, and changes in the environment.  The skin also regulates your body temperature, and effectively stores water, fat, and vitamin D.

An organ that does this much for you deserves the best care that you can give it, but sometimes everything that you do doesn’t seem to be enough.  The reason that your skin develops problems is usually due to a dietary deficiency, which can be the result of numerous things.  Your skin needs to receive a steady dose of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, and trace elements in order to remain healthy.

The reason that you should look into the purchase of a high quality fish oil skin care dietary supplement is that omega 3 fatty acids are also important in maintaining the health of your skin.  Omega 3 fatty acids have the ability to heal the skin, and just about everything else that ails you.  These fatty acids are used by the immune system along with omega 6s to help in healing the body.

Omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids provide healthy inflammation that is used to correct problems within the body.  Omega 3s also display anti-inflammatory properties, and they have the ability to control the inflammation they are emitting.  Omega 6 fatty acids have no control over their inflammatory emissions, and once these emissions are activated by the immune system they will keep going until the omega 3s signal them to shut down.

The problem is that our diets are high in omega 6 fatty acids, while providing us with only minute amounts of omega 3s.  This means that the inflammation produced by the omega 6s will go on unchecked, because there is simply not enough omega 3s in the system to put a stop to this inflammatory activity.  You need to consume a fish oil skin care dietary supplement daily in order to increase the amount of omega 3s present in your system.

The unchecked inflammation from omega 6 fatty acids is what eventually causes the development of the chronic inflammatory ailments that we suffer.  Without an adequate supply of omega 3s in your system you run the risk of cardiovascular disease, non-insulin dependent diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, asthma, and various skin disorders.

In order to relieve your problems with acne, eczema, boils, cellulitis, and psoriasis, a daily DHA omega 3 fish oil skin supplement is needed.  High blood levels of omega 3 fatty acids can even treat UV radiation induced skin damage, which means that these nutrients could potentially play a role in the prevention of skin cancer.

So now that you know this, taking a DHA omega 3 fish oil skin care dietary supplement will correct what you can hopefully now see is the most damaging nutritional deficiency you can suffer.  You need to get more omega 3s in your system in order to have healthy, unblemished skin.
