The Benefits of a Fish Oil Blood Thinner

Did you know a DHA and EPA rich omega-3 fish oil blood thinner could be a serious boon to the overall health of you cardiovascular system?  It has been proven again and again through clinical studies that the use of omega-3 fatty acid supplements can counteract even the diets highest in fat.  In fact, they could possibly ward off the development of heart disease, and heart related deaths all together.

I am not claiming that omega-3 fatty acids are akin to a “Fountain of Youth” that will keep you alive forever, but I am saying that there is a wealth of evidence out there that suggests that your life could possibly be extended.  The lack of cardiovascular disease in those whose diets are high in DHA and EPA fatty acids is something that is not seen in those individuals that follow a more “Westernized” diet.

The first real evidence of the benefits of fish oil blood thinner came in the 1970’s when studies were conducted on the Greenland Eskimo’s to find out why it was that they could consume diets so high in fat, and yet have no evidence of heart related ailments.  It was then that it was discovered that omega-3 fatty acids had a tremendous effect on heart health.

It was quickly uncovered that DHA and EPA omega-3 fatty acids significantly improved blood circulation.  Part of the reason that circulation remained so efficient was because these fatty acids prevented the thickening of the artery walls caused by the accumulation of fat tissue in the blood.  This means that by supplementing with these essential nutrients you can greatly lower your risk of atherosclerosis.

Other benefits of fish oil blood thinner include that these omega fatty acids prevent blood platelets, which are the smallest cells in the blood, from sticking together.  On top of that DHA and EPA increase the breakdown of fibrin, which is a fibrous protein produced by the liver that aids in the formation of blood clots.  These acts greatly reduce the occurrence of thrombosis.

High levels of omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to lower hypertension, and help lower cholesterol.  DHA lowers the level of the small, dense particles of LDL cholesterol, which are the particles that are associated with heart disease.  At the same time the large, buoyant particles of HDL cholesterol, which is known to benefit cardiovascular health increase.

Not only is fish oil blood thinner extremely beneficial to your heart in all of the ways mentioned, but omega-3 fatty acids also affect the heart in other positive ways also.  This would include preventing dangerous arrhythmias.  These arrhythmias are disturbances in the normal rhythm in the heart’s beating, which could lead to sudden death from a heart attack.

Make no mistake about it.  A DHA and EPA rich fish oil blood thinner is an absolute necessity to anyone that is looking to try to extend their life as far as it will go.  Even if there is no guarantee you will live as long as you would like omega-3 fatty acid supplements will help to keep you as healthy as possible, right up to the end.  Try a quality DHA fish oil supplement, and see if it doesn’t improve your quality of life.

A Safe Alternative for Fish Omega- 3

In some types of fish omega-3 fatty acids are abundant, and for years medical professionals were recommending that everyone consume more fish in order to take advantage of the health benefits that these essential fatty acids displayed.  However, I was shocked to hear it is now not customarily advised that a person increase the amount of oil rich fish in their diet, because their consumption may actually do you more harm than good.

It has been revealed to us over the last few decades, that DHA and EPA omega fatty acids have a truly remarkable affect on our health.  These essential nutrients are involved in the treatment and prevention of a great number of diseases that are rooted in inflammation, and it would be a good idea for everyone to significantly increase the levels of these nutrients in our blood.

In fish omega-3 fatty acids are built up over time through either the consumption of microalgae, as is the case with sardines and herring or they are accumulated in predatory fish through the consumption of prey that feed on this substance.  Either way the levels EPA and DHA fatty acids that these fish attain can be startlingly high, but so can the levels of toxins present.

Our waters have become so polluted that it is little wonder that the food that we depend on has become tainted.  A certain measure of the contamination is naturally occurring such as in the case of lead and mercury.  The vast majority of the toxins in the water however are a direct effect on the technological advances that we have made, and the chemical fallout from our innovation.

When eating large numbers of servings of fish omega-3 fatty acid benefits may be completely wasted.  While fish oil benefits help you in some areas, the effect of the toxins will break you down in others.  In order to prevent this from happening the manufacturers of DHA and EPA rich omega-3 dietary supplements have developed special measures for removing these toxic agents from the oil.

What it is that they do in order to ensure that the essential fatty acids you receive are as pure as is humanly possible, is put the toxin ridden fish oil through a process of molecular distillation and concentration.  What this purification process does is it separates the volatile chemical agents and the ethyl esters in the oil.  When the process is completed all of the vaporized toxins will have been vacuumed away, leaving only pure ethyl ester oil behind.

Unlike the triglyceride form of oil typically extracted from fish omega-3 ethyl ester oil is highly bio-available, and it is concentrated to a degree where it has two to three times the normal amounts of DHA and EPA omega fatty acids present.  Ideally, your formula will utilize a split between the concentrated ethyl ester oil, and the natural triglyceride form.

Also, in fish omega-3 DHA and EPA balances cannot be manipulated in such a way as to give you as much DHA as you need, and so you typically end up receiving low levels of DHA to EPA.  With pure, concentrated omega-3 fish oil supplements, your levels of DHA will be guaranteed.  This will help you get the most out of the omega fatty acid supplements you use.

Discover an Effective Fish Oil Concentrate

Let’s face it.  In order for you to achieve an optimum level of health, you are going to have to start supplementing your diet with a DHA rich high quality fish oil concentrate.  Over the last few decades we have been discovering the amazing benefits of increasing the levels of omega-3 fatty acids in our diets.  Once you find out exactly how much they can do for you, it will be easy to see why it is imperative that you get these essential fatty acids in your diet.

We have known that omega-3s produced some health benefits for us since the 1930’s, but it wasn’t until 40 years later that we began to recognize the extent of what these essential fatty acids could do.  Since then, we have found that omega-3 fatty acids provide a wealth of benefits towards the treatment of certain diseases, and the prevention of many others.

The daily consumption of a high quality DHA rich fish oil concentrate can virtually wipe out any incidence of heart disease.  It has been proven that you can have lower triglyceride levels, lower blood pressure, slow your heart rate, decrease the incidence of potentially life threatening arrhythmia, stimulate blood circulation, increase the breakdown of clot and scar producing fibrin, prevent atherosclerosis, and prevents blood platelets from sticking together and causing clots to form.

Cardiovascular health is not all that is improved by an increase in EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids in the diet.  They are also important for the cognitive development, and the maintenance of normal brain function of humans.  It has been proven that incidences of depression, aggressive behavior, and suicidal thought and tendencies can be reduced through an increase in dietary fish oil.

It has also been shown that a DHA and EPA fish oil concentrate reduces the odds of the development of age related memory loss.  These essential nutrients aid in preventing the formation of the amyloid plaque that forms in the neuro-pathway’s of the brain.  These two omega fatty acids have also shown some promise in the prevention and treatment of Parkinson’s disease.

The main reason that it is recommended that you supplement your diet with a DHA and EPA rich omega fatty acid supplement instead of simply increasing the amount of fish that you eat is simple.  Our waters have become so polluted that the fish are becoming more and more toxic to humans.  In order to lower the risk that these toxins pose, fish oil supplements are the delivery method of choice.

This is because a high quality fish oil concentrate has gone through a purifying procedure known as molecular distillation.  This is where the toxins in the fish oil become separated from the ethyl esters by way of lowering the pressure above the fish oil to below the level which results in the vaporization of the volatile compounds present.  This leaves you with pure, highly concentrated ethyl ester oil.

By taking advantage of a DHA rich bio-available ethyl ester fish oil concentrate, you can expect significant improvements to your health.

FRS Healthy Energy Review – No BS!

I recently received a generous free trial of FRS Healthy Energy. I must admit, my decision to give it a shot was made partly as a result of the celebrity endorsers who swear by it.

People who I respect, including Lance Armstrong, Derek Fisher, and Tony Robbins are all on board with this stuff, so I figured there’s probably something to it.

After a week of using this product, I am offering my FRS Healthy Energy Review to anyone who may also be considering a free trial of this supposed superior energy product. I hope this helps!

FRS Energy Review – How Does It Taste?

Even though it’s the effect we’re really after, I would say that taste is pretty important, so we’ll get this part out of the way first.

FRS Health Energy is not delicious, nor is it atrocious. Think juice concentrate. This is just as true of the texture as it is of the flavor. Again, not bad… but not great.

I am speaking of the low calorie orange drink concentrate, by the way. This is what came with my free trial. I cannot comment on the other flavors yet, as you will need to try those yourself. I’ll get into that a bit later.

I also received the chews, which are actually pretty tasty. They look like Starburst fruit chews, but are more airy… kind of like Airheads candies. Mmm!

FRS Healthy Energy Review – Does It Give You Energy?

First of all, let me offer a bit of a disclaimer here. I am not an athlete. I do work out and take pretty good care of myself, however, so I can speak on that basis only.

I’ve tried lots of different energy drinks and supplements. From Rock Star, Red Bull, and Monster to 5 Hour Energy, HGH Energizer, and some of the POM line. In effect, I can truthfully say that FRS Healthy Energy is significantly better.

The quality of the energy is cleaner and more sustained. I don’t feel jittery or nervous… in fact, I’m a pretty “anxious” person by nature, and oddly enough I find that FRS Energy actually calms me down and gets me centered!

If you didn’t know, FRS Healty Energy’s key ingredient is an antioxidant called Quercetin, and I can only assume that the healthy removal of free radicals Quercetin provides is directly responsible for this decrease in my anxiety, while still noticably enhancing my overall energy.

I can honestly say that this stuff makes me feel exactly the way I want to feel!

FRS Energy Review – Additional Benefits:

Along with clean, sustained energy, I also find that FRS is helping me stay more focused. It seems to be increasing both my mental clarity and my mood in one fell swoop.

Again, I got my shipment only a week ago, so I have no idea if there’s a plateau yet to come wherein this mental and emotional benefit will come to a hault. But I must say that I’m quite pleased thus far. Who wouldn’t love an all-day mood and focus boost?

Also, I feel as though FRS Healthy Energy is doubling as a sort of all-natural multivitamin. It’s packed with all kinds of good antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and the like. I actually feel healthier as a result of trying this stuff!

FRS Energy Review – Are There Any Drawbacks?

I’ve read a few other reviews that support my thoughts on this… I just don’t get the caffeine thing. I mean, you’re doing so well with the antioxidants and b vitamins, why do you need to add caffeine?

Granted, it’s a fairly negligible amount (they say about as much as a third cup of coffee), but why is it necessary to add it? I do have a theory that perhaps the caffeine speeds up the delivery of the “good for you” ingredients.

In any case, it’s not that big of a deal, really. Again, it’s a fairly trivial amount. More thought-provoking than anything.

FRS Healthy Energy Review – What’s This FREE Trial All About?

Okay, here’s where I’ve actually seen a few negative reviews about FRS. Some people’s testimonials indicate that they were “scammed” by the company.

They say they had absolutely no idea that after their free trial ended, they would be billed for an auto-ship program. My question is what freakin’ planet are these people living on?

It is states very clearly on both the home page and order page that you may cancel your free trial and never be billed another penny if you simply give them a call. We’re not talking fine print here, either. This is in your face throughout the entire process.

In fact, I’ll share the entire thing with you right here:

We know that you’ll love FRS, so we’re giving you your first two week order free when you sign up for FRS home delivery.

If you’re not completely satisfied with your free trial of FRS, you can call us at 877-377-4967 within 14 days of receiving your free trial to cancel any future deliveries- no strings attached.

In the box with your first two week order, you’ll receive a letter with our toll free phone number so you can easily find it if you don’t want to receive any future orders from FRS. There’s absolutely no risk in taking this free two week offer.

Your account is automatically set up to send you two servings of FRS per day every month (two bags of chews and two bottles of concentrate per month). Seems pretty cut and dry to me, how about you?

By the way, shipping is only $3.95, making this a truly great offer, in my opinion. I have no intention of calling them. I’m going to keep getting my FRS. I love its guts! It has already improved my life in more ways than one.

Discover the Benefits of Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Face it.  Clinical tests conducted over the last 40 years have proven the benefits of omega 3 fatty acids for a variety of ailments.  Inflammation in the body is necessary in order for the immune system to effectively ward off diseases, and to heal wounds.  If there is too much inflammation constantly present in the body it can have the opposite affect than intended, and this chronic inflammation leads to disease.

The reason that we now suffer from so many of the ailments that we have simply come to accept, is because we have allowed the ratio of our omega-6 fatty acids to overwhelm the body’s content of omega-3s.  Both of these fatty acids are necessary in order to maintain good health, but an overabundance of omega-6 fatty acids is responsible for the prevalence of many preventable diseases.

One of the primary benefits of omega 3 fatty acid is that unlike omega-6s, which are never able to turn themselves off, omega-3s are able to discern when inflammation is necessary and when it is not.  This ability is what makes DHA and EPA omega fatty acids such a force in the prevention and treatment of the various “inflammatory” diseases.  We need to raise the level of the omega3s in our bodies.

The reason that things have gotten so out of balance has to do with how much our diets have changes over the last century.  Instead of the omega-3 rich substances that used to be staples in our diets, we have turned to eating processed foods substances and significantly increased our intake of soy, palm, and corn oils.  Something has got to drastically change.

Some of the benefits of omega 3 fatty acids include the prevention of cardiovascular disease, and proper cognitive development and cognitive function.  You can also count on a positive effect from the consumption of DHA and EPA rich omega fatty acids when it comes to allergies and asthma, arthritis and gout, and diabetes.  These fatty acids offer you the possible prevention of breast and prostate cancer as well.

So, in order to get things in balance and back on the right track, should you begin by eating more oil rich fish?  This was the recommendation years ago, but increasing the amount of fish that you eat is not advisable now.  This is because we have allowed entirely too many toxins to contaminate the earth’s water, and these toxins are becoming a part of the fish that we eat.

The best way to enjoy the benefits of omega 3 fatty acid is to take DHA omega-3 fatty acid dietary supplement capsules, every day as directed.  This way you will be able to control what it is that is entering your body, because the manufacturers of fish oil supplements distill all of the toxins out of the oil they are giving you.  They also concentrate the DHA and EPA present, in order that you get the maximum possible dosage.

So now that you know this, get your omega fatty acid levels back to normal and you can enjoy all of the benefits of omega 3 fatty acids.

How to Help Postpartum Depression

Did you know postpartum depression is a condition affecting an estimated 5-25% of mothers, right after or around the time of birth?  There is no better estimate, because researchers believe that many women fail to report the symptoms, possibly due to embarrassment or concern about being stigmatized, considered a “bad” mother.

There is reason to believe that the cause of the condition, particularly when no depressive disorders were present prior to the pregnancy, may actually be inadequate nutritional intake.  Hormonal changes have been blamed for the “baby blues” for many years.  But, inadequate nutrient intake will also have a negative effect on hormones.

The body can only produce hormones when essential fatty acids are present in the diet.  While most people in the US and other developed nations get enough omega-6 fatty acids, they do not get enough omega-3s.

Omega-3 fatty acids are found in walnuts, kiwi, olives and canola oil.  They are found in other fats, as well, but not in very large amounts.  Most fats provide more omega-6s than omega-3s.

Of all of the dietary sources, the best is fatty fish.  Fatty fish also provide two unique omega-3s that are not present in other foods.  One of those is DHA and low levels of DHA, specifically may be the underlying cause of postpartum depression.

Inadequate intake of the B vitamins, iron and calcium may also be a problem.  There are plausible links between a lack of selenium and zinc, as well.

In general, a woman should take a good multi-nutritional supplement, whether she is pregnant or not.  She should also take a good fish oil supplement, because that is the best source of DHA.

Low levels of DHA have been linked to a variety of depressive disorders and behavioral problems.  The brain needs DHA to repair damage done to cells during the day.  Not only could a DHA supplement reduce a woman’s risk of postpartum depression, it could insure that her baby’s brain develops properly.

It could reduce the child’s risk of developing allergies, asthma and attention deficit disorders in later life.  But, it is absolutely essential for normal brain development in the fetus.

How the baby gets enough DHA when mom doesn’t get it in her diet is still a mystery.  It is believed that the body converts ALA, a shorter omega-3 that is more abundant in the diet, to DHA and directs that to the developing fetus.  High levels of DHA are known to be present in the umbilical cord, at birth.  So, obviously the mother’s body is directing all of her nutritional reserves to the developing infant.

That could be the underlying cause of postpartum depression.  It could make many women feel a lot better to know that it is not their fault for feeling sad or depressed after giving birth.

That’s one reason that researchers would like for all pregnant and recently pregnant women to know that some affordable dietary supplements, readily available in any drugstore or on the internet could be highly beneficial for postpartum depression.  Since they are completely safe, there’s no reason not to try them.  They could only help.

Discover the Best Prenatal Omega 3

Did you know that prenatal omega 3 fatty acid intake should be higher than what is recommended for non-pregnant women?  A woman’s needs are also higher when she is breast feeding.  If her dietary needs for DHA are not met, she could experience a variety of health problems.

DHA or Docosahexaenoic acid is an omega-3 that is essential for normal brain development in the fetus and in the infant.  It continues to be important throughout a person’s life.  A lack of it throughout a person’s life could be one of the causes of Alzheimer’s.  Research concerning that is currently ongoing.

DHA is naturally present in human breast milk.  Many infant formulas are now fortified with it, too.  For years, studies had shown that breast fed babies developed cognitive functions faster than formula fed infants.  It was only recently that DHA was isolated as the difference.  It is not present in cow’s milk or soy products.

In fact, the only real dietary source of DHA is fish.  If a woman does not eat fish on a regular basis, her blood levels will be low.  Her body will make sure that the baby gets enough, but her own health could fail.

Some studies indicate that taking prenatal omega 3 supplements could reduce a woman’s risk of post-partum depression.  Low levels of DHA in the bloodstream have long been associated with depressive disorders.  A woman’s blood level of DHA is extremely low right after delivery.  So, it stands to reason that a lack of DHA plays a role in post-partum depression.

There is always concern when a woman that suffers from depression becomes pregnant.  If she is taking anti-depressant drugs, her baby has a greater risk of certain kinds of congenital heart defects.  But, being depressed during pregnancy is dangerous, too.

It is hoped that prenatal omega 3 supplements may help.  Studies indicate that it helps with other things, as well.

Babies born to mothers that got enough omega-3s during pregnancy have a reduced risk of asthma and allergies.  The same is true of breast-fed children.

Other studies have shown that the babies develop their visual acuity faster, when their mom’s got plenty of DHA.  Not only is it found in the brain, it is also found in the back of the eye.  A recent study concluded that high intake of DHA throughout a person’s life decreases their risk of age-related macular degeneration, the most common cause of blindness in the elderly.

If you do decide to take a prenatal omega 3 supplement, you should check out the manufacturer’s standards for purity and freshness.  You don’t want to be exposed to mercury or other contaminants and a spoiled supplement could make you ill.

You should also follow the manufacturer’s directions concerning dosage, unless your doctor has made a specific recommendation.  More is not better when it comes to dietary supplements.

In conclusion, there are likely other benefits of prenatal omega 3 supplements.  The ones mentioned here are those that have been the subjects of numerous studies.  We’re sure the nutrient is important for you and your baby.

Are there Omega 3 Side Effects?

Have you read about this recently?  Researchers say that any omega 3 side effects would be greatly outweighed by the benefits, even if the risk of mercury consumption is considered.  That statement was issued by the Harvard School of Public Health.

Researchers always consider the risk-benefit ratio when assessing drugs, but rarely when they are assessing nutritional supplements.  It is usually assumed that nutritional supplements are safe, because they are elements found in foodstuff.

Herbal remedies are sometimes assessed for their toxicity, because they have drug activity and some of them are not generally consumed as foods or along with them.  The safest herbs are those that have been used historically as food flavorings.  Garlic, turmeric and black pepper are examples of the safest herbs.

But, people are sometimes concerned about the side effects of omega 3 fatty acids, because they notice “things” when they start taking the supplements.  More vivid dreams, for example, are sometimes noted.  That would be due to the increased intake of Docosahexaenoic acid or DHA.

DHA is a component of healthy brain cells.  Although it cannot be considered a psychoactive drug, it obviously has some effect on brain function.  In fact, the human brain cannot develop normally without DHA.

Our dreams reflect our health in many ways.  When the colors are more vibrant and the elements of the dream are easy to remember, it means that our brains are healthy.

Other omega 3 side effects are not so pleasant.  Fishy tasting burps are commonly reported.  That’s not a positive effect.

The fishy tasting burps are not actually due to the supplement, but to the amount of oxidation that occurred before the oils were encapsulated.  Oxidation occurs when the catch is not processed immediately. The oils start to spoil.

The better supplement manufacturers guarantee that there will be no fishy tasting burps, because they have had the level of oxidation measured before the oils were encapsulated.  When the level is very low, there will be no burps.  That also means that we are not being exposed to free radicals, one of the causes of cellular aging.

Gastrointestinal discomfort has sometimes been reported as one of the side effects of omega 3 supplementation.  While the supplement is known to support regularity (it has been used to prevent constipation in the past), a regular dose should not cause diarrhea, stomach upset or other discomfort.  But, there could be other ingredients in the product that cause the problem.  Or, it could be due to high levels of oxidation.

If you experience any negative side effects of omega 3 fatty acids, you should report them to the manufacturer.  You could also report them to your doctor, who could help you file a report with the US FDA or other regulating agencies.

Make no mistake about it.  The best supplements will not cause any health problems.  Of that you can be assured, but there could always be a problem with the quality of the brand that you decided to buy.  In other words, omega 3 side effects could be caused by a tainted product.  That’s what you have to look out for.

Discover Fish Oil Health Benefits

Have you read about this recently?  In a recent article written by researchers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, scientist discuss the fish oil health benefits for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and whether it is wiser to eat seafood or take a supplement.  Some research groups recommend eating more seafood.  Others recommend taking a supplement.  A few recommend both.

For example, if you happen to be a pregnant woman, researchers have recommended that you eat two servings of low-mercury seafood per week and take a supplement that provides at least 500mg of DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) every day, as well as your regular pre-natal vitamin.  That recommendation is made, because DHA, an omega-3 fatty acid found only in seafood and some types of marine algae, is essential for normal brain and eye development in the fetus.

If you do enjoy seafood, you should check out the consumption advisories published by the Environmental Defense Fund, the CDC and the EPA.  Some species should be eaten no more than once per month.  Some should be avoided entirely.

Women and children are most susceptible to the mercury and PCB content.  But, men should be careful, too.  Too many PCBs can increase the risk of cancer.

The fish oil health benefits cannot counteract the negative effects of consuming mercury or PCBs, but supplement manufacturers can have each batch of oils tested for those contaminants, insuring that none are present.  It is not possible to test every piece of seafood for contaminants, because testing destroys the food.

So, when advisories are made, it is just a “guesstimate”.  There is no way to be certain which species are safe and which are not.  One serving could have two or three times the contaminants present in another.

The North Carolina researchers concluded that more research is needed to investigate the fish oil health benefits, the potential adverse effects of certain species and how cooking affects the nutritional value.  If you read much of the scientific research, you will see that one of the most common conclusions is that more research is needed.

Continuing research is important in order to arrive at specific dosage recommendations.  It will also be necessary if US residents are ever to be aware of all of the fish oil health benefits.  The FDA will not sign off on health claims associated with nutritional supplements, unless there is more research.

Preventing over-stated and unverifiable claims that could be misleading is an important job for the FDA.  But, sometimes, they seem to overdo it.  For example, the company that makes Nyquil added vitamin C to their cold relief formula, without first receiving approval from the FDA.

The FDA told them to change the formula, because there is no “proof” that vitamin C helps people recover from a cold more quickly.  There is no proof that alcohol, which is the main ingredient in Nyquil, helps people recover from a cold, either.  It just helps them sleep.

Honest Fish Oil Reviews

Let’s face it.  There have literally been thousands of fish oil reviews conducted over the course of the last 70 years or so, that have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that omega-3 fatty acids are a tremendous boon to your health.  These anti-inflammatory nutrients have the ability to prevent some of the most serious ailments that we face, and to aid in the treatment of many others.

There is more than one type of omega fatty acid, with n-3 and n-6 fatty acids being predominant.  The reason that these essential nutrients were given the name fatty acids is that early on researchers found that they were essential to the normal growth of children and young animals.  It was discovered that both the n-3 and the n-6 fatty acids played a similar role in normal growth.

However, it was decided that more fish oil reviews needed to be conducted into the n-6 fatty acids at the time, because they were seen to play a much greater role in dermal integrity, renal function, and parturition.  It wasn’t until quite some time later that the n-3 fatty acids began to be studied in earnest, and that was when it was finally seen that they were the more important nutrient.

What was discovered about n-6s is that arachidonic acid is converted by the body into pro-inflammatory agents known as eicosanoids, which can be broken down into prostaglandins, thromboxanes, prostacyclins, and leukotrienes.  Eicosanoids have important biological functions, and their short life spans begin with synthesis from fatty acids and end in metabolism by enzymes.

Fish oil reviews have shown that if the rate of synthesis exceeds the rate of metabolism then the excess eicosanoids have a harmful effect on the body.  Omega-3 fatty acids are also converted into eicosanoids, only at a much slower rate.  Omega-3 eicosanoids are less inflammatory that n-6 eicosanoids are, and the two sets of omega fatty acids actually compete to be transformed.

You want the positive inflammatory features of the n-3 fatty acids to win out over the potentially harmful n-6 fatty acids, but in order to ensure that your body has a better chance for remaining healthy your intake of omega-3s must be much higher.  Any negative effect from an n-6 eicosanoid can be voided by the presence of an n-3 eicosanoid, which is very important to your body.

Fish oil reviews have noted that n-6 thromboxane is a significant factor in the clumping of platelets which leads to clotting.  The leukotrienes are important to the immune/inflammatory response system, which means that they are relevant to arthritis, asthma, and lupus.  Omega-3’s form anti-inflammatory molecules called resolvins, maresins, and omega-3 oxylipins, which explain the versatile health benefits of fish oil.

Make no mistake about it.  Fish oil reviews have proven that these anti-inflammatory omega-3 molecules act as preventative agents when it comes to such things as cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and they are suspected of having a positive effect in the prevention of certain types of cancer as well.  Making sure that your body has an ample supply of DHA and EPA rich omega-3 fatty acids could mean all the difference when it comes to your health.
